I will be on a cruise. I need to have my cellular turned on in case family members call. I get these robocalls frequently. If I choose not to answer, will I be billed?
I know it is essential to keep in touch with your family especially if your going away on a cruise. I would love to help clarify especially if you get a lot of spam calls. When you arrive in a TravelPass country and turn on your device, you'll receive an international welcome text message. Your 24-hour access to TravelPass won't begin until you make a phone call, send a text or use data, including background data. I have clients that are Verizon customers cruise regularly. To keep in touch, they buy the Wifi access on the ship and use Wifi text/calling. Airplane mode on, Wifi on, data off.
They use pay per use text on land rather than travel pass. You can keep data roaming OFF to prevent data charges which are VERY high.
Calls aren’t billed if you dismiss them You can put your phone in do not disturb and set ‘contacts only’ or ‘favorites only’ rule to block all calls Whether you are charged may depend on the carrier you are connected to on land
