Travel Pass or not?

Travel Pass appears to cost $10/day, for each day of usage.

If I expect to use my phone for at least 4 days, is TP the better option? The one-month international plan ($40, I believe) sounds like a better option.

With TravelPass, you are able to use your normal monthly data/calling/texting allowance. With the monthly plan, you are given an allowance of 100 MB/100 calling minutes/100 sent texts for the month. If you go over that 100 MB, you will be charged another $25 for each 100 MB you use additionally. Overage charges for calls would be $0.25/minute and $0.25/sent text.

Thank you for clarifying.

BUT, and I don't mean to be anal about this, I'm still inclined to believe that I'm more likely to use my phone more than 4 days, but without using much data or calling minutes (avoiding data usage by using wifi, where available). If so, would you agree that the regular monthly plan makes more sense that the TP?

And are we talking about "two" payments in that particular month, i.e., the normal payment, plus the "travel" one? Or just the single monthly payment, covering both the international travel and the domestic usage?

Whether you go with TravelPass or the monthly international plan, you will be charged for your regular monthly Verizon plan.

Whether or not TravelPass or the monthly international plan is the better choice for you, only you can make that choice. Keep in mind  if you use your phone for 1 GB of cellular data usage while using your phone every day for a week, you would pay $70 with TravelPass. With the monthly plan, you would pay $40 + (9 x $25 or $225) for a total of $265 for the monthly international plan PLUS any overage charges for calling/texting.

It all depends on how closely you want to monitor your usage.

If you know 100% you're going to use around 100 mins, send around 100 texts and not really use cell data, go for the fixed rate $40 for the calendar month.

Travelpass is the same $10 charge whether you send 1 text message or send 1,000. Only go with this for short trips / if you want to use your phone a lot.
