TravelPass - How does it work?

My wife and I are traveling to Mexico next month and I saw the option on here for TravelPass. How do you sign up for it? We will be there for 5 days and I may only use the phone for 1 or 2 of the days that I am there. Is this something that I have to specify how long I will be there and the days I'm there and I just get billed for the days that I am there? I'm just not very clear on how the whole thing works.

Travel Pass will allow you to use your domestic allowance while in Mexico for $2 a day. Provided that your plan works with Travel Pass e.g. more Everything and Verizon Plan.

When I used it last month while in Canada. I stayed for 10 days but only got charged 6 days. I was told that you'll only be charged the subscription for 24 hours if any usage of calls, text and data were detected, either incoming or outgoing. WiFi is not included of course.  So it would be best if you just turn Airplane Mode ON on those days wherein you don't want to be charged the travel pass $2. Regardless, it's just $10 all in all for 5 days.
