Hi, I am Dottie, traveling in Germany. I signed up for Travelpass but would like to know if using a hotel#s wifi makes using data apps and sending texts free, thus not initializing Travelpass usage.
dneuf07, we hope that you are enjoying your trip. If you do not want to be charged for TravelPass we recommend using your device while on Airplane Mode and turning on Wi-Fi.

if you're using iPhone, make sure the "wifi assist" is turned OFF. so, even if you have cellular data and roaming turned off, this separate setting located near the bottom of setting for some odd reason, will use cellular data if your wifi signal turns weak. learned this the hard way...
