What international plan options are available for Denmark and Sweden?

I don't currently have a phone that will work for international travel but am planning to get an iPhone before traveling to Denmark and Sweden in late August. I'll be there for 3 weeks and will need the phone primarily to call or text and to access the Internet for travel information. What Verizon international options are available, and what alternatives are there (such as ordering an international SIM card online)?

Also, will any iPhone available from Verizon work internationally, or only certain models?

Any iPhone should work fine. You can add TravelPass to your account and be charged $10/day for any days you use your phone while abroad. With this option, you would then be using the calling minutes and data allowance from your regular Verizon plan in which you are enrolled.

International Travel Plan | Verizon Wireless

Otherwise, you could purchase an international SIM card from somewhere such as Amazon before you leave

or pick one up in the airport when you arrive and then switch it with the Verizon one in your phone. Of course with this method, you would have to let any contacts know of your new number in order to get in touch with you. iMessages should still get to you without informing them as they are delivered to your AppleID, not your phone number.

That trip sounds amazing, PATFRE12. All those details from rcschnoor were spot on for your travel needs. Any iPhone currently found at https://www.verizonwireless.com/wireless-devices/smartphones/iphone-compare is capable of service while you’re overseas but if you’re buying a used iPhone, make sure it is an iPhone 4s or newer to ensure global capability. You can actually log into your account through www.vzw.com/tripplanner to select a specific model phone along with the countries you’re visiting to have customized options for your travel needs and add any feature that fits you best. We don’t lock global-capable LTE devices from using a local SIM, but it would be up to the local carrier whether your new device will be supported on their network.

Thank you
