Can I use a G3100 router to replace a extender and if so HOW?

I found a version router G3100. I want to use it to replace the extender I currently have.  I am having trouble getting it to connect with my network.

What 'network' do you have?  What 'extender' do you have now, make/model?  Is it a cellular network extender or a WiFi extender?
