I have reactivated my hotspot 4510L and it working great.
This is not a high priority concern of mine but I thought
it was a good question to ask on this Jetpack user forum.
I decided to login as admin on the hotspot's local configuration
page and noticed that a mandatory update had failed. Should I
try to find out why it is not updating? Since it is a relatively old
device, Is the update no longer available? Would the update
sync the hotspot up with the latest changes on the LTE network?
Just interested to know. Thanks.

Upgrade using USB to version 2.28.02 Successful!
My experiences for people searching the forum:
I decided to upgrade using my macbook OSX Lion.
I downloaded the files from the link in the pdf for the mac.
I installed the drivers. And rebooted.
First when running the Updated app in the downloaded package
I got an error of no device connected when having my hotspot
connected with a usb cable.
After trying other usb cables, I decided to use a usb powered
hub and still noticed that the LED light on the hub was not going
on indicating no usb connection for the port that the hotspot was
plugged in. I thought this was quite odd. Noticing that the LED
would flicker a little bit.
I finally got the LED to light up solid by plugging in my mouse
and keyboard. After that the updated tool app found the
hotspot device and did the update to 2.28 successfully.
Now the trouble I had may had been with my usb cables
and mac setup but I include it here to let you know what
to do to if you see the same situation.
Initially checking the hotspot after the upgrade seems
to show it working even better showing a download speed
of 10mbs and an upload speed of 8mbs which I had not seen
before at my home location.
So thank you so much for your help.
Exactly what I needed for my 4510L hotspot.

jguske, We want to make sure that we have the best options for your device. This device is supposed to update software automatically. Since you are in the Admin Page, what software version does it have? The most recent is SU3. http://spr.ly/6589Bj60N If your device is working well, that is the most important option. Have you checked to see if you are eligible to upgrade that device to the latest technology? http://spr.ly/6580Bj604

Thank you for your quick reply. Currently my version is 2.23 from the diagnostics page.
The update shows to be 2.28.02.
Or SU3v2 in the name of the update.
I think it has trouble with over the air update.
So I am looking at the pdf files you directed me about
the 2.28 update to be done as the the jetpack is connected
by usb. Thanks is is very helpful so far.
