Will I be charged for activating my mobile hotspot or will it just use my data?

Just wondering if I turn my mobile hotspot on on my phone and connect with my iPad if I will be charged or if it will just use my data

Depends on the plan you're on.  If you're on a newer plan like the More Everything or Verizon Plan, hotspot is included and uses data out of your data package.  If you're on an older plan like the Nationwide, there's a separate charge ($30) for the hotspot.

To clarify:  if you're on an older Nationwide plan, the hotspot feature is $30 if you have an unlimited data plan; otherwise, it's $20 for 2 GB.
