Will my ellipsis jet pack mhs815L work on 3g network?

I read the specifications for my jet pack ellipsis MHS815L and it said that it only supports the 4g LTE network. I have also read a post here asking about using it in England that said it doesn't support the 3g network. Someone from verizon said it should work on the 3g network. I'm really confused, does it or doesn't it work on the 3g network?

According to the specifications it only lists Band 13 and 4 for the radio frequencies. That makes it not global ready and not 3G EDVO network capable.

The link Ann154 posted states "LTE only" in specs, so she is correct--  it supports 4G only, no 3G.

If you view the full specifications, it lists the specific frequencies used by the device.

JOEHAS23,

We appreciate you reaching out to us regarding your concern for your jet pack and your travel needs. We want to make sure we can go over the details with you. Your Jet pack ellipsis MHS 815L will not work outside of a 4G network. While traveling in England you would need a world device with GSM in order for it to work in a GSM network (out of the country).  When will you be starting your travel? We do have loaner device options that you can use for your travel needs. Please view this link for more details http://vz.to/2rxTWEJ.

Ann 154 and lukevinyl thank you for your answers, which is what I thought from reading the specs, including the online manual that states “no 3g fallback” and from my experiences with this jetpack.

Verizoncustomer support, please read my post, I did not say I would be traveling out of the country, I mentioned a post about someone else who was. My post asked about the Jetpacks performance on a 3g network.

Unfortunately I didn’t read the specs before taking the advice of a Verizon representative when I enrolled in the new Unlimited plan. Tech support in the meantime has said it “should” work on the 3g network and some things do load but video in particular is grainy and blurry. Slower too, but I’m past the 10gb limit so it would be. I might have thought it was just the way 3g looks, but I have friends also on the Unlimited plan, also past the 10gb and while slower the quality is much better. I have taken my Jetpack to their house and have tested it with both laptop and desktop and the results are the same. The difference? They have a MIFI with 3g capability.

I have spent hours with tech support, returned one defective Jetpack but the second didn’t change the blurry picture situation. I went to a Verizon store, hoping to upgrade to a MIFI like my friends’ but was told that I would have to pay an early termination fee. Verizon kept us on 4lte for two months so we didn’t realize these Jetpacks weren’t compatible and it was too late to change when we did. The no longer have this jetpack available so it looks to me like they got rid of them then made sure we are stuck.

I contacted Verizon as asked in the private message, they took my information and said they'd get back to me. This was over a week ago. I have since NOT HEARD FROM THEM. This is at least the third time Verizon has promised help and will GET RIGHT BACK TO ME but I never hear from them again. I have filed a compliant with the FCC, Verizon is the most unethical company I have ever dealt with.

The FCC has no authority on how Verizon treats you or how your perception of them is.  The FCC deals with technology regulation as it applies to wireless spectrum and other misc. communication areas.  Unless your Jetpack is infringing on another carriers airwaves the FCC isn't going to do anything.

You can try the FTC and see if they will hear your case.  However, Verizon already has wordage in their contract that covers this scenario.  "Someone at Verizon said something" is generally not enough leverage to get the kind of response you are looking for.

The best way to get a reaction out of Verizon is to contact them directly via phone or instore rep.  Get a case number and then contact them back for updates are you feel necessary by citing that case number.
