I am trying to use the ac791l without the LiPo battery in the back. It works fine when i first plug it in but after awhile it will start restarting at random intervals and i don't know why. I am hoping that there is a quick fix. When you update the hotspot you can no longer leave the battery out.

Plug the battery back in and let the Jetpack mange it for you.

If your goal is to use a mobile broadband device without a battery backup then you may want to check into other Verizon products. For example the 4G LTE router or a USB Modem and compatible Home Router. Either of those devices are designed to run entirely off of a wall power source instead of a battery and may be a better fit for your needs.

LiPo … does the battery or manual say this?
I'm not aware of any Jetpack that works on external power without the battery.
