I recently purchased a wireless NVR and IP camera surveillance system.  The system requires the use of a wireless router that is connected via ethernet to the internet.  The only internet access that I have is my Verizon Wireless MiFi Jetpack 5510L.  The router will not accept the internet signal from the jetpack.  Both the router and the surveillance system require a high speed internet connection.  Is there any way to get the router and surveillance system to work using internet from my jetpack?  I live in the country with no access to cable or high speed internet.

The easiest and preferred method is to use the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE Broadband Router w/Voice instead of a Jetpack. If you have money to throw at it, another option is LTE Internet (Installed). Both include Wi-Fi and 4 Ethernet ports.

Depending on your level of skill, more complicated options include network bridge the Jetpack’s Wi-Fi to Ethernet. There are many ways to do this that start with an old computer running Windows XP (Bridge Connections) with Wi-Fi and Ethernet adapters. You can use a network device specifically for bridging such as a Pepwave or Craddlepoint router from the 3GStore. There is also the Apple Airport Express and the TP-Link TL-MR3040 (there are many other options besides these from other stores including Walmart). You can also use a router that supports third party firmware like DD-WRT or Tomato and configure it for network bridge.

Since you have a 5510L you can use any modern Asus wireless router with 3G/4G support to USB Tether the Jetpack to it. Such routers have at least 4 Ethernet ports.

Whatever Ethernet solution you use, you cannot use this surveillance system connected to Verizon Wireless, from a remote location over the internet without a public facing static IP address.  LTE Internet (Installed) provides this otherwise it is a $500 one time fee.
