The most you'll be able to do with the Kin is use the browser, for games or maps or whatever. (That's all some apps are anyway, a Web portal.)

There was a neat feature that the Kin's web browser could do. I apologize if this was mentioned somewhere. After I gave maps.google.com a destination for which I wanted it to show me a map, [as anyone knows who's used that site] there's a little teardrop-ish shaped icon positioned above the location of the destination on the map.

But when I tapped the screen next to that icon, the Kin presented me with the option to save the image. After okay-ing the Kin to save the image of the map, I opened the camera app so that I could view the images that I'd taken with the Kin; there in the photo folder was the map that I was looking at in maps.google.com

What's also neat is that if you had made an adjustment to the map [such as zooming in] prior to taking the snapshot, then the snapshot will be the version of the map just prior to taking the snapshot.

Thanks for the google maps tip. Also, like any other screen from the kin, when in the browser, you also can just simply take a screenshot by pressing the camera button halfway, and then pressing the 'back' button. It won't preview, but it will take it. And on many other browser screens, you can select pictures and save them, much like you did with Google Maps.

I see you finally got yourself a Kin Twom, Mojave. How do you like it so far? And i gotta say, thanks for doing your own research and investing your time to contribute valuable questions, as well as answers, to other Kin owners and shoppers alike :smileyhappy:

Although I wish there was a native maps app, I found bing.com maps work pretty well on the Kin Twom browser.

Thats what i have read. You would hope that was the case..Microsoft better make their own stuff user-friendly on their own products, eh? I've never used bing maps before, but most of them out there are nearly identical, cause their data is from the same or similar sources.

I stumbled onto this site (http://www.mobiles24.com/downloads/s/439084-m1228-notepad_40).  I'm wondering are kin two java apps a scam?  Will they work on my Kin Twom or are they something that used to work back in the kin two days?
