Any Developers that know Python want to give a shot getting Bitpim to work with the Kin ?

Bitpim is opensource/ freeware software that you can use to backup your phone, but drivers have to be created for each phone.  I used it with my Voyager and it worked great.   If anyone out there knows Python and wants to give it a shot trying to get it to work with the Kin so that we can backup our contacts, calendar, ringtones, wallpapers etc with Bitpim, please check out the following link for developers.   Thanks!! Pam

I have been looking into it.  I am not really familiar with Python, but do have experience in other languages.  I have actually already been poking around on the bitpim site and looking into the source code, but have been trying to finish my finals for the semester. :smileyhappy:  Now that those are out of the way I should be able to put a little more time into it.  Believe if I figure out a way or find somebody else who does, I will definitely let everybody here know.  I am just too stubborn to go to the store and get my contacts transferred.  I am determined to find a way or keep trying until somebody else does.

Hi Mcdietz.  Not sure if you found this link yet, but someone posted a tutorial a week ago on how to read the Kin Two and TwoM filesystem with BitPim.  Check out the first link below.  The 2nd link below is for the drivers you'll need, but they're only good on 32bit OS.  Not sure if you still have a 32bit OS   I know I have 32bit on my old laptop, but I'll have to grab it from a friend's house to try this out.  This is a good starting point to get the Kin working with BitPim !!  If someone can get this working, we'll be able to backup our contacts and calendars using Bitpim.  BitPim worked great with my Voyager.  It's great to see people are trying to get this to work !  Pam
