Can't setup my phone!

So - my Kin Twom mysteriously stopped working, and luckily, it was still covered under warranty, so they sent me a replacement Kin phone. 

I think they sent me a Kin Two instead of a Kin Two M, because it seems to have "The Loop" and there is no calendar.  When I try to turn it on, it says I have to "Set up my Kin Account".  I keep trying to enter my windows live email, but it repeatedly says that there's a connection problem and it cannot reach the Windows Live ID service right now, so I have to cancel setup in order to use my phone at all.

I need help!  Because I can't use the browser without this, or utilize the loop at all...
