If you bought a kin .... What now?

If you bought a kin, since it has been recalled do we get to exchange for a different phone for fees and if so how do we go about exchanging it?

Unless you're within the 30 day return period, there's nothing you can do. You would have to buy the phone at full retail price or off of Craig's List or something like that.

The phone has not been "recalled" in the technical sense. "Recall" implies a technical defect that the manufacturer would need to correct. In that case, the manufacturer would give you a different device, just a replacement with the same make and model of the old device.

The Microsoft Kin doesn't fit that definition. It's just that Microsoft is no longer manufacturing the Kin, so Verizon is no longer selling them, just like dozens of other phones that Verizon has stopped selling (re: Samsung Rogue, Motorola RAZR, etc.). But that doesn't mean that the device itself is no longer working, and doesn't mean you're entitled to  a new device. You can still use the Kin, just like you did prior to Microsoft discontinuing it, and any technical issues would be covered under the manufacturer's warranty.
