When i slide the keyboard on my Kin the screen goes black. I bought a no contract one off of amazon. no replacement or what?

No solution. But if your up for it, you can disassemble and see if its a loose cable in phone.
My phone was doing the same thing and went totally black. If you shine a flashlight on it you can still see the screen, so that makes me think its either a bad inverter, bad bulb, loose cable or possibly a bad solder. I tend to think its a cable issue. I have not had the time to take disassemble my phone yet, but I plan to.

If you are unable to do so or unsuccessful you will need to look into replacement options. The device is not covered under warranty however. Are you eligible for an upgrade?
