Text Messaging Issue

When I receive a text, specifically from  Verizon Smartphones, and the text is broken up into 2 messages, the 2nd msg only comes thru as 2 symbols (usually a box and the "@" sign) and no words.

So basically any time I receive a 2-part text, I lose the 2nd half of the text - every time!!

Please Help!!!

  Obviously that is not normal.  How long has this been happening to you? Have you tried to reset your phone? Have you tried to send yourself a long message that is broken up into 2 separate ones?  Have you had any other issues with the device? Please advise so we can get this resolved for you. Thanks.
