Too Many Bad Passwords on Kin Two...Can I recover Data?

My son decided to play with my daughters phone.

 

He kept entering bad passwords until it said "ENTER ONE

MORE BAD PASSWORD AND DATA WILL AUTOMATICALLY

BE DELETED"

 

Is there a way to get the data back?  All of her photos appear

to be gone.

It is a security defalt with the phone, it erases all the data (pictures, text, contacts, videos, emails) from the phone, I believe it is after 10 failed attempts.

 

I understand it but I think it is a little extreme, bottom line it is gone.

Do you know if you have backup assistant, can the data be retrieved? this happened to my son on his blackberry bold but as it was wiping he took out the battery and hasn't used it since.  Can he access the data on a computer through backup assistant and then sync it to his blackberry?
