Anyone know if this can be done? Is it possible to do so by editing the registry, perhaps?
I ask because I'm away from home (and my regular computer) and will be for some time. I have computer access, but am not allowed to install new software on the computer is it's my mom's work computer.

Well, i'll just let you know that editing the registry, or whatever alterations that would be necessary to do so, would be a lot harder and longer work than hunting down a computer that can install new software.
There are people who are/were trying to fix bugs like transferring contacts and more on their own and with the community, but as far as i know, it hasn't happened.
