Transferring Your Service between Verizon Accounts.

Need to move a phone number from one account to another? This article will guide you on how to transfer mobile numbers between Verizon accounts. 

Before starting the transfer make sure:

You are the Account Owner or Account Manager for both the sending and receiving accounts must consent to the transfer, except under certain circumstances:

To accept a line of service, the receiving Account Owner or Account Manager must:

  • Be at least 18 years old (19 in Alabama).
  • Pass a soft credit check. Soft credit checks don't impact your credit score.
  • Complete the transfer of a personal line within 15 days of receiving the email (30 days for a business line).
  • Be eligible to assume any device payment agreements. Learn more about device payments.

To transfer numbers between Verizon accounts:

  • Accounts must be up-to-date
  • The line being transferred must have been active on the account for at least 30 days (5 for Business).
To Transfer Service on the My Verizon App: 
 
1. Open the My Verizon app from the Account Owner or Account Manager device.
If you're not able to access the My Verizon app, you can also visit the My Verizon website to transfer service.
 
2. Tap the Account tab
 
3. If prompted, enter your password, fingerprint or Face ID.
 
4. From the Devices section, tap any mobile number.
 
5. From the Device Management section, tap Transfer your service
 
6. Tap Start a new transfer
 
7. Select the line(s) to be transferred then tap Continue
 
8. Select 'I want to transfer line(s) to a personal account' or 'I want to transfer line(s) to a business account', enter the applicable info then tap Continue
 
7. Review the Disclosures and Authorizations, tap  Accept & Acknowledge
 
8. From the Review And Confirm Your Transfer Request screen, make sure everything is correct then tap 
Continue
An email with instructions on how to approve and complete the transfer is sent to you and the person assuming liability for your wireless number.
