Weatherproof wifi extender

Question

Hello. I have Verizon Fios and looking for a good mesh weather-proof wifi extender to be able to get wifi outside. I currently have the Verizon 3100 wifi 6 router and it seems like the signal is lacking vs my old Verizon router with an antenna. Any good options out there?

Answer

Virtually any outdoor wireless access points would work with an Ethernet cable back to the router.

Mesh is a bad idea because your link is as reliable as the weakest link.

The specific recommendation would depend on your needs and budget, such as: are you having Zoom conferences outside, or is having a NAS to transfer files? It does not need to be a Verizon product.
