An app that allows me to receive text messages sent to my phone?

Hi everyone, does somebody know about an app that allows me to receive text messages sent to my Verizon LG VS910 4G LTE when it is not in the range of the Verizon 4G network but it is connected to a Wi-Fi network (Useful when you are abroad). I was told by one of the technical support guys about one third party app with the name "Free Text Flow" or something similar but I could not find it on my Play Store or App icons on my mobile.

You might want to check the other android sites.  I think I have heard of an app that will send the message to a computer, but I don't remember what it was or if it worked.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Why not use Google + app or Google Talk.  There's also Google Voice, as well of a slew of messenger apps.  If you want to send it to basic cell phones it will work also that way(all of them do, but you have to initiate the first message).  Only Google Voice it works both ways.

Google+ or Google Talk would be something that I would use.  The OP didn't ask that question though.

Was just offering a suggestion to simply things for himself.  There's a few out there where.  DeskSMS is one app, but it requires a $5 subscription per year(I use this) if he that's what he is talking about.  I am about to drop out text plan because it isn't worth it anymore to my family to have so we end up using Google + messenger and we'll end up saving money.

Thanks Tidbits by your suggestion. I have not used Google + a lot but I will try to explore it. I am not sure if my question was clear enough and understandable, but I just want to be able to receive any occasional txt sent by Verizon, like my temporary password, in order to complete the registration process on My Verizon. Do you think Google + or DeskSMS will work for that? Cheers.

Thanks Ann154 by your suggestion. The main reason to ask for that kind of app is to receive txt sent to my LG Verizon Android when connected to a Wi-Fi. Actually, I am in London and therefore I have not connection to Verizon network. Last week when I was setting up my Verizon account I could not receive the temporary password sent to my mobile and my account is still not active. If later you remember the app name and can post it I will be grateful.
