Hello Snooksa'a, your efforts are appreciated! A working phone is super important. The next step is to test the touchscreen and app functions in safe mode: http://vz.to/1n1hKWA If issue persists, you will want to make sure contacts & pics are backed up and run a hard reset: http://vz.to/1qfVNVb We can review warranty and replacement options if hard reset does not correct the functions.

KSBRAN,
Hmm that's odd, let's ensure your phone is working as it should be so you can enjoy it. Have you tried as soft reset and then retested? Did this start happening after installing a application? Try putting your phone in safe mode and retesting. Here's how to put in safe mode: http://vz.to/1ngnY7f

My "knock on" stopped working too. Only after the Kit Kat update. I've tried testing in safe mode....nothing. I tried powering off & restarting.....nothing. I even backed up all my stuff and did the factory data reset......still not working. I'm very annoyed with this!!! Do I need a new phone now??

Let's explore options to resolve this issue Snooksa'a! Go to settings>gestures>KnockOn>unchek box to disable, power phone off for one minute, power on and repeat the steps above to enable (check) Knock On feature. Test.

Ok.......I tried what you suggested and still doesn't work. Knock off works but Knock On does not. I've also noticed today that on some of my Apps, certain functions that require you to touch screen, is not working. It's like certain parts of the screen has lost it's touch function. Needless to say, I'm highly disappointed and annoyed now. Do I need a new phone now???
thanks!

Is a hard reset the same as a factory data reset? If so, I have already done that and the same issues are present. This phone is less than a year old.

Thanks for your troubleshooting efforts Snooksa'a! Let's test your screen! Tap Apps icon (located at the bottom with 4 dots), tap notebook app, tap new note, draw vertical lines from top to bottom. Let us know if you see complete lines or if the lines break at any point. If lines break at any point and your phone is within manufacturers' warranty and does not have any physical/water damage, we'll provide a http://vz.to/uyYF0o warranty replacement.

HAhaha.........no phone damage of any reason for me. Installed KitKat update and then ALL these problems started. Verizon needs to replace my phone. This is ridiculous !

No LG should replace your phone. Verizon does not make phones.
The kit Kat came from Google and sent to the device maker .
Your issue is with LG
Good Luck
