The update for the LG G2 right to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop is not only in the works, but testing has nearly completed and the update could be here within the next 1-2 months.
Of course, it isn't official until it pops up on your screen. US carriers usually have set backs, but rumors suggest Sept 2015, most likely before the end of the year with the way these things go. Point is, the LG G2 is still relevant.
