Do I need to occasionally update the software on my G2? It seems to be slowing down with response time to open or close applications. If so, where do I go to get the updates?
Updates are sparse, about 1-2 a year, if that many. I doubt we will see more than 1 more update for the OS in the future. App updates are almost daily/weekly when you go to the Google Play Store or let them auto-update. You can check your OS version by going to settings-about phone-software version, and can check for updates by scrolling all the way to the bottom of the phones settings screen to System Updates. You should be on Android 5.0.2 Software Version VS98039A.
To speed up the phone, remove apps you don't need, tap the square key and swipe or clear opened apps, and you can clear the cache of the system by going to Settings-Storage-tap Cache.
