Are other people still having battery drain issues? I have done a fds 3 times now, each time it helps for a little while, although not much, then right back to crap. I know my phone is not under warranty anymore, but this isn't my mess up. Will Verizon send me a new phone?

When you FDR, do you disable backup and restore? That's a very important step. If you are still under warranty Verizon will send you a replacement G2.

Yes, the last time I did a fdr I made sure to disable backup and restore.
I do not have insurance but I did not ruin the phone either. Verizon
should send me a new one reguardless since their update did this right?

No. They won't. You can try the Verizon repair tool built into the phone. I had no issues with my update really, but I always FDR before and after a major OS update.

Ok, I'm not that tech savvy to know to do that stuff before an update.
I'll try that, thanks for the help.

Still no progress. I will not be renewing my contract with Verizon in January. This is unacceptable.

Verizon has nothing to do with the update on your phone. You either need to find unacceptance with LG or with Google.

Well which one? I find your response unnacceptable. I was forced to
upgrade and ruin a perfectly good phone. I will be done with LG, Google,
and Verizon.

And, I find your blanket statement unacceptable. I bet the next phone you get will give you issues as well. You can't change phones, carriers, and platforms each time you run into an issue for which you do not know how to deal with. Just because you are not "tech savvy" enough to know how to operate your phone is not the fault of anyone else.
Factory Reset The following process has helped many, maybe you can benefit from this as well. I know you don't WANT to FDR, but if you haven't already, this might be a NEED to operation. Back up any photos documents or videos and other media to a PC or cloud service. Google Accounts will keep your contacts in Gmail and you can use Google Drive to back up everything instead of a PC and the Play Store will remember the apps you have downloaded before.
Plug into charger for the entire process (DISABLE google backup and restore of apps and app data)
Charge to 100% and back up and factory reset the phone Factory reset one more time
Unplug from charger
Set up your phone
Leave phone on until it dies and turns off 1 time
Leave off and recharge to 100%
This is my usual process and I have had no issues.
But, I will bow out here and let you stew. Good day.

Yes, I have done your "usual routine" of which you're so proud of, even
though no one should have to do this in the first place if the update
wasn't a clown show. This may have worked for you and others, but it did
not work for me. I have never run into problems like this in my entire
life. Someone has to take responsibility. All the countless hours of my
life I've wasted trying battery saving apps and changing this setting and
disabling that app, searching message boards, trying everything, are you
kidding me? And all the money spent on the phone and plan. I'm over it.
Here I come iPhone.
