LG G2 battery life issue, WiFi

I (like many others) have been having battery life issues since the upgrade to Kit Kat. I've taken as many steps as I can to reduce battery drain (disabled all factory apps I don't use; make sure location is always off; downloaded snapdragon battery guru), but it seems that the majority of my battery drain is when I am using WiFi. For example, today as soon as I took the phone off the charger, I disconnected from WiFi at 100% battery life. used the phone casually throughout the day, and when I got home I was at 75% battery life. I connected to my WiFi, and now 3 hours later with very minimal use, I am down to 62%. Any thoughts on why being connected to WiFi (not constantly searching for a signal, but actually being connected and using WiFi) would drain the battery like that?

jman0312do you possibly have your bluetooth on, or maybe the NFC, or other features? I have my Wi-Fi on constantly, 100% of the time and my battery lasts a good 3 days.

Oh, also, do you have your Gmail set to autosync? Having stuff set up to autosync in the background hogs the battery too. Maybe dim your screen a bit and set the screen timeout for shorter amount of time.

Khines5705 thanks for the reply. Bluetooth is off, and so is NFC. I also have Gmail disabled from autosyncing. The only items i'm aware of that works only over WiFi is app updating. But it's not like app updating runs constantly.

You could set the updating to do it manually instead of automatically through the playstore app, just in case. Other than that I'm not sure what I might have set different on my G2 but I get great battery life. Sorry.
