I purchased this phone in August of 2011. I had multiple issues...freezing, can't hang up calls, don't get calls, and don’t get texts, turns off by itself (multiple times a day). No service while standing right next to my son who has service. I have to remove the battery several times a day. I returned it, as I assumed it was just a defective phone (but only after getting the run around from my local Verizon) I was actually told, we can't do anything about it unless we can see it happening. Seriously?!... I called tech help and after hours on the telephone, they finally replaced with an identical phone (refurbished of course). However, I am still experiencing the very same problems. I have been with Verizon for years and have never experienced anything like this. I even emailed LG directly.
Since I have signed a 2 year contract with this lovely electronic device... I am forced, locked in, sentenced to, chained to, and tortured by this phone for another year. I throw my hands in the air in disgust as Verizon and LG are so blase to all of this and will not acknowledge that we as consumers are all complaining about the very same issues.
Yes, I have done all updates, restored to factory settings, you name it. The only thing I haven't done...Is see if it swims in the toilet where it belongs.
Woah! My wife has the same phone and is going through similar issues, when she's in "talk" mode after a minute or so...the screen blacks out and won't come back. She cannot enter any #'s if she had to or hang it up or anything! She has to remove the battery to get it back up.
She got her phone from Best Buy, I was amazed that they gave her no problems in getting it out for service. (I like their insurance plan because there is no $50 or $100 co-pay! it's FREE!)
Anyways, she just got her phone back today (Refurb) and after half a day with it so far so good. I'll keep you posted if any issues come up...BTW she feels the EXACT same way when it comes to her phone and a ramdom toilet!
UPDATE: Yesterday I sent my wife a couple of texts, got no response. I got home and found out that she never received any (not just mine, but NO text at all). We tested this with my phone, and sure enough her Revo is NOT receiving texts! DAMN!!!!!!
We called Verizon Support, they had me remove the battery for 10 seconds while they "Reset" her phone. It worked. But it's just another obstacle in her 2 year marriage with that phone! LOL
P.S. @Ultra63, that's is sooo funny! Although my wife still has her Revo, I did what you said (sort of) 2 months ago! I went to Best Buy so they can "BUY BACK" my Revo for $280 and went straight to ebay and picked up a Rezound!
