So, are you getting no data connection whatsoever on your new Revolution?
Do you have wifi disabled? Once you removed the SIM & the battery, how long did you have a data connection before it went away?
If you are having that difficult of a time maintaining a reliable data signal on your phone, I would recommend taking it to the closest corporate Verizon store to either test it, troubleshoot it or compare it with another Revolution to see how it picks up data.
You should be getting some type of connection.
