My situation could have been a lot worse.  I could have been one of these people who tried to change too many features or plans at one time, gotten caught up in that Edge trade-in ordeal, had multiple lines on my account and each one negatively affected by a gone-awry promotion, been eligible for that $150 credit, been told I could do this then done that and then found out it was incorrect and been stuck with 100s of dollars in fees and extended years.  Yeah, it could have been worse I suppose.  There are just some things that cannot be controlled, some things within agreements that are unavoidable, and the best way to continue as a happy customer or to at least start that way, is to keep it simple and not change things mid-stream.  Know what you're getting into and commit to acceptance.  And, above all, keep a back up phone, buy the phone outright or get on a simple contract without all the pitfalls of multiple promotions, and stick to an easy plan.
