There is a well-documented defect in the G2 software that surfaces as erratic touchscreen behavior. I am active on XDA and Android Central forums trying to identify the cause of this issue and trying to get LG and VZW to address it with a software update. I have also posted on social media attempting to get the attention this deserves. In addition, I have created a "Voice of the Customer" defect report with LG.
I have provided links below for your reference rather than duplicate all of that text in this post. Just these two threads alone currently have over 15,000 visits by G2 owners, many of which have already observed this defect.
Here is the XDA thread that I started that clearly describes the problem, complete with YouTube links and the latest on this G2 defect:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2521663
Here is the Android Central thread to which I contribute:
http://forums.androidcentral.com/lg-g2/317709-g2-touch-screen-issues.html
The G2 community is calling for LG and VZW to weigh-in on this issues. A large number of G2's are being returned, which can't bode well for VZW or LG.

I filed a complaint a few days ago with them. Just waiting for action. The canned responses is exactly the problem. Nobody is willing to go above and beyond and just talk to corporate for me to see if they can help me out. They just keep repeating the same thing over and over again. LG themselves were really no better. But they couldn't have been worse than the treatment I got from Verizon.

Katherine Beals have you sent a follow request to Kevin Robbins
Before you can send a private message to someone, you must first send a follow request to that person. That person must accept your follow request. That person must ALSO send you a follow request which you must accept. THEN you would be able to send private messages back and forth.
(removed)
Katherine Beals and Kevin Robbins click on the persons link which will bring you to their profile page. Click on "'Follow" on their profile page. Wait to get confirmation the follow request has been accepted. Also wait to get a follow request from the other. Accept their follow request. Then private message your socks off.

Thats what I'm saying, i have tried them all out on four phones now. In this case because Im so disgusting frustrated, it doesnt help. In fact, im strugling to write this because every few words my phone throws in a random word somewhere ransom in the message. Or just deletes ransom chuncks. This is pure insanity. Plus, after being on the phone for two hours with the most horrific tech support man, I'm looking into legal counsel because they wont give me a new phone from a different manufacturer. They want me to continue using one with known problems, and yes he told me that straight up in the beginning of the conversation. He also added while they're working to fix it that he doesnt forsee the fix being released any time soon. Later in conversation he would blatantly mute the headset, get back on laughing at me and repeat the same thing and mock me. When I asked for his manager he put me on hold for 11 minutes to "go get him", turns out he and his manager sound identical. Alas, a complaint for a different forum. I just want you to know that i go through this daily. Every day I'm on the phone, emailing, on their Facebook, writing letters. So just saying, after all this effort, I still havent received help.

katiekay0216 We don't want you to be frustrated with your device. We are aware of the issues some users are having since the update. We appreciate that you have done all the troubleshooting as we can now review replacement options. Your phone is covered under a manufacturer's warranty which will allow you to receive the same phone. However, if you are interested in purchasing a different make and model we have the certified pre-owned option http://vz.to/16vfYHl Take a look at the phones available in the link above. We hope this helps.

Lol that's exactly why I'm upset. I know my options in a typical situation. But you can bet your big business butt that I'm not going to purchase yet another phone. I should not be the one paying, literally, for someone else's mistake. That's what's wrong here is that you guys want me to keep paying and paying for a device from a manufacturer that is clearly having issues. Two of them may have been free replacements but I've paid for two of the same phone already and that's deplorable that your company is forcing this horrendous situation on me without even asking someone that's higher up in company if you could please do this for me. Also, the supervisor that was supposed to call me yesterday never did so guess who's spending a few more hours on the phone today.

I'd say as Big E stated it's time to look at other options to issue you can clear the system cache, run the phone in Safe Mode this help show if there any third party apps that are causing conflict and if all else fails try, Running the phone through a Factory Reset..
Sometime it's the best solution..

I'm not doing another factory reset I'm sick of having to redo everything. But I've already done all of that other stuff. There isn't a fix its just what the software update did to it. I shouldn't have to factory reset my phone to fix it. The source of the problem should fix it. That's obvious

Well there are times Katie that when a new update comes about it can cause the old software that was left on the phone which would of been Jelly Bean to not play nice with the New.. what ever it may be if it's kit kat then the two may be causing interferences with Each other. and when that happen the most reasonable thing you can do until another update comes is to do a factory reset.. Hopefully an Update will come soon to solve your issues.. b33

I factory reset three phones in a row. Made my settings so the it wouldn't go automatically for hours and hours ahead of time. But it still kept pestering me to update, and obviously if you do then you can't go back without resetting the phone again. So of course it did the update while I was sleeping even though it wasn't set to. I have every right to be frustrated on my fourth phone asks months of problems.

That is something that should not be meeerylou! Let's get some clues to determine the root cause of this issue and explore options to resolve! When did this timing issue start? Is there any physical/water damage to the phone? What is your ZIP code? Did you recently installed an application or software update? Power off/on for now and test please.

To add to the above try clearing out your phones system cache and it might not hurt to power off the phone remove the Sim Card for about 5 min. re-install it power it up see if the Time returns to the correct time.. and something else I thought of if you have another cellphone handy at your home or current location make a call to it and then take that phone and make a call to your G2 that will help update the time in your G2

Kapzmom,
We don't want to see you having issues at all. Please provide more details as to what you see happening on your phone. What software version are you on http://vz.to/1vFkZsH ? How much memory do you have left on your phone http://vz.to/1Drd4Pr ?
