My headphone jack literally just stopped working. All the stuff I have read online is showing that most LG G2 users have this exact problem. I would like to know how to get mine fixed since verizon is sending me on a rat race to find out what to do.

I have owned a G2 for 1 year, 4 of them actually. None had this problem, but to be fair, I only used headphones of the plug in type on the first one...bluetooth LG HBS750s since.

trombonekuhn, I don't want you to be going on any kind of rat race! Let's make sure that we are able to get your device working the way it should. Have you tried to use a different pair of headphone int he jack? Was there any kind of physical or liquid damage to the phone? Also, is the headphone jack clear of any lint or debris? Please keep me posted.

There has been no damage to the phone. I have tried four different head phones. When it started all i had to do was twist the head phone and the phone would lose connection. When that happens on the LG it completely stops playing music, turns the display screen on, and sometimes changed settings while in my pocket. I used compressed air to try to clean it and a paper clip. Shortly after it completely stopped working unless i held it in place which of course is horribly annoying. I use my phone with its million features and apps to basically make phone calls, text, flash light, and you guessed it, listen to music. Without music i have , literally, little use for this phone. Trying to contact customer service has been extraordinarily frustrating. I called the store i bought the phone and told the girl working that from what i read online, this phone suffers from this problem a lot. To me that means the manufacturer is selling faulty product that will knowingly break. And of all things, the head phone Jack? They've been around for how many years now? The girl working agreed with me that they break often and told me to remove the battery and put it back in. On a phone that doesn't allow you to remove the battery. Then she gives me a number i call that then tells me to get some other phone to call a different number which is not what i need. I need information on how to fixed or have it replaced. I had purchased insurance but when my card maxed the insurance plan was cancelled. I've had it for over a year so the warranty is gone. Now I have a phone that doesn't do the one thing i like it to do While employees admit to me they break often over the very problem i presented. Very frustrating to buy a phone, which by the way is really a great phone, that can no longer do what my 20 year old CD player can still do, connect to the headphone jack.

Even if it was under warranty, the paper clip thing sure would have voided it.
Have you tried buying or using blutooth headphones?
A hard reset (yes, believe it or not, that sometimes clears that issue)
Otherwhise, certified like new from verizon or you can try 3rd party sites like www.swappa.com ebay, etc.
Best wishes.

yes, they are still very expensive. i would buy a bluetooth headset but they all tend to use ear buds that stick into your ear and I cannot use those. the other kinds go around your ear entirely n i cant use thoe either bc they suck for working out and other reasons

Even posting directly on the Verizon website and still their customer service lacks service. The lady i spoke to at the store was completely unhelpful. The number She gave me, unhelpful. The live chat is a complete joke and waste of time. And now here, nothing. Thank you Verizon. I'll keep this complete lack of service in mind

trombonekuhn,
We never want you to feel this way? We understand how this is frustrating. We want to make sure we work on a resolution. Is there anything in the headset port? Any lint or debris? How long have you had the device?

September 2013 is when I purchased the phone. There is nothing in the headset port that I can see or get out. It started to cut off when the jack insert moved, then it became more and more sensitive until it completely stopped working. the only way to get it to work is to hold the jack insert very firmly and I obviously cannot do that all day long. This is the exact same thing that happened to my last phone where the headset port just quits on me. Its perfectly frustrating that such a simple thing is apparently costing me a lot in time and most likely money because of cheap manufactured phones. I mean, seriously, the headphone jack? And its not just me, I have read online this has happened to multiple people with multiple phones of the same model AND the girl at the verizon store I called and spoke to admitted to me that this happens a lot. She didnt seem to care much for my issue, nor have a clue on what to do, but she certainly proved my point.

That metal on metal friction will wear, and if you use mainly plug in phones, this will happen quickly. IDK about build quality, but if compared to past jacks in audio player, I'm betting it wasn't as strong a focus since BT is the mainstream headphone now.

Ok. Seriously. This is total BS. I have been trying to get information, ANY, information on how to go about fixing my phone. You have yet to give me ANY OPTIONS. Not one. Now, my cell phone bill is due. So i have to spend my money on a phone that isnt working with a company who's customer service is even worse at working than the broken phone. Do not think for a moment this wont come to mind when my contract ends. I have just about had it with your complete lack of service towards your customers. I understand I will not get some magic free phone but I would imagine you would at least consider the idea of offering me SOMETHING! Instead I have received absolutely nothing from you. This is a total joke. Thank you for your so called customer service.

You could contact LG. They might fix it for you, but if it's out of warranty, then you'd have to foot the bill.
FWIW: Some credit cards extend a warranty by a year.

I advised you of all the options you had. I also told you about buying a bluetooth. You shot down all my recommendations which a Verizon rep would have informed you of as well. When you bought the phone you were given the option of insurance which it also seems you shot down. Now you look and sound foolish by complaining.

I explained before I cannot use the type of headphones offered with bluetooth. They either go over your entire ear or they stick into the ear. If you want me to be gross I will and inform you that my ears produce too much wax to have ear plugs constantly pushed into my ear. Those types of headphones are actually REALLY bad for you and your ears. I suggest you also look up the word All because you did not inform me on All the options. I also suggest you do not assume you think you know what you do not know and end up making yourself looking foolish by being stupid. If youre not going to help, you can leave the situation alone. Which I have decided to do myself. I found my own option and come the end of my contract I will be seriously considering ending my business with verizon after a good 12 some years. Apparently they dont need to help their customers. Ill take my business and money elsewhere.

Maybe it's too late, maybe not.
You have another suitable option (maybe I mentioned this to you, I cannot remember - obviously in another thread)...
Convert whatever type of headphone you have that you like for whatever reason to BT. Purchase a small A2DP BT receiver from eBAY. I've had great success with these in the past (and have 3 in my home):
Bluetooth Wireless A2DP 3 5mm Stereo Audio Dongle Receiver Transmitter Adapter | eBay
What's really nice about these, not only can you use them to BT stream to a set of earbuds or headphones, you can also connect it to car radio with an AUX in (cable not supplied), or a regular stereo receiver (cable supplied), or a set of amplified computer speakers (I use this setup with an Altec Lansing set of external speakers:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0038W0NEU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1#
I will also use a program like Equalizer so when I'm streaming, I can adjust the frequency bands and emphasize some, and de-emphasize others (I like listening to Jazz).
YMMV.
