It's up to LG to send out the 5.1 update. If LG does send it out. Then the ball will be in Verizon's court.

Any ideas on how we can bring this to Verizon or LG's attention to make sure they are working on it?? I'm sure there are many discussion boards so just hoping that someone is monitoring all of them may not get us very far. I've thought about calling Verizon but then you just get a support person who is unlikely to know what's really going on at a higher level. Is there some way to publicize this more widely?

For the record, I am another very unhappy Verizon customer.  After updating my Lg G2, nothing in Google is working/syncing right which makes a lot of my reasons for having this phone pretty obsolete.  I went to a Verizon store (before I knew it was a common problem) and nobody there could explain what was going on or even make any suggestions.  If they are aware of the problem, they sure covered it up.  I'm hoping they "hear" the complaints enough to take some action!

Google sent out the 5.1 update on March 9, 2015. So it‘s been over a month. I would start with LG. I'd ask LG when are they sending out the 5.1 update.

I flashed my G3 back to KK.  It can be done without rooting.  The phone was just about worthless to me without notifications while using WIFI, and I refuse to pay more because I would have to use 4G to get any notifications.  So, I voided my warranty I guess and risked bricking it.  Now again I have the great phone I started with.  Thanks Verizon for zero help.

I spent a long time on the phone with a Verizon tech this morning. He even tried calling LG to see what they are doing about the issue, but the LG rep denied any responsibility for the problem. It does sound like Verizon does monitor these boards to see who is having what issues, so it does help if people write in that they are also having problems. If enough of us complain either here or by phone, perhaps they will finally come up with a solution! 

I tried asking if there was a way to revert back to KK, but the tech couldn't find one. I don't have the confidence to try doing that on my own.

I have been using Aqua Mail, downloaded from Play store, to get notifications of my GMail.  It works even on WIFI.  I get notifications for everything except Twitter, anything Google,  and Words With Friends.  Hope ;this helps

The problem is that every tech has a different story.  Google has issued an update, 5.1.1, I don't know if LG has pushed it to Verizon or what but the update is out there and other companies are pushing it out to their customers.  LG/Verizon seem to be behind on this.....

I'm having this exact same issue. I use my phone for work and rely heavily on the push notifications from my Gmail accounts. Argh.
