Lollipop 'fix' did not fix

I installed the Lollipop update released OTA last Friday. It helped a lot - for about 3 days.  Now, I'm getting the same issues as I had before with lagging, "home page not responding", notifications not working (they were working before) and the worst is the battery life is HORRIBLE.  Worse than before. I have to charge it multiple times a day when not even in use. It went from 100% to 2% overnight while i slept. I find it very hard to 'wait for a fix' when i've had the phone less than a year. I really want to turn this in for something else, but Verizon won't let me without paying more money. Help!!

Mkjdd,

We certainly don’t want to lose you due to this situation. We are not giving up hope as I want you to be able to enjoy your phone.  I know that you mentioned doing the reset was suggested but you were advised it would not work, however in this case, it would be beneficial to try. A reset does not take long and we do have steps to make sure all is backed up before the reset was done. Here are the steps to try just in case you decide to proceed: http://vz.to/15q9DPo

Mkjdd,

We always want our customers to have the best device experience. I appreciate you bringing this to our attention and for your patience while this is going on.  As the update are meant to be more good than harm. No worries! Let’s look to see what’s going on.  Have you tried an option called Wipe Cache Partition? If not, no worries! Here’s how: http://spr.ly/6585BD0NH

How are you charging the phone? Via the charger that came with the phone? And is being charged being a wall outlet and not computer or car charger?

Yes, I have wiped the cache (several times).  I am charging via wall when at home and in my car as well because it drains so quickly.  The phone did not come with a vehicle charger, but it has never been an issue before the Lollipop roll-out.

Do you have network mode set to LTE/CDMA?

Yes I do. Performance and battery life is no difference between that and global network.

Have you factory reset or checked the battery usage to see if an app is causing this issue? It sounds like everything was working fine until an app started causing the issue or something you changed on the phone.

I have not performed a factory reset.  I have been advised that the chances that will solve these issues is slim and just not worth the pain of going through it. A Verizon employee has told me this too.

As for apps running using a lot of battery power, each time I check it the Verizon Cloud app appears at the top of the list using 28-32%.  If I choose STOP, nothing happens. And I cannot find a way to uninstall that app.  If I try to open the app - nothing happens, just a freeze.

Terribly frustrating and close to going to another service provider that will buy me out of my contract and give me a new phone......anyone else?

Do the hard factory reset and then run the latest update. It will fix the phone.

I had two phones, messed with one (mine) left the wife's alone except to update, hers was problematic until I did the Factory Data Restore.

After the FDR and update to Lollipop 5.1 both phones are dramatically better, a few speed hiccups and I see more 3G connection, but light years ahead of what Lollipop 5.0.1 did to it.
