Phantom email in inbox

I have an LG G4, running Windows. My gmail keeps telling me I have 1 unread message, but there isn't one. I've tried restarting the phone, clearing the cache, and checking my gmail via computer. No dice! Any advice?

I have; It specifically says it's in the inbox.

Did you try pulling to refresh?

Oh yes, plenty.

Did you try logging into a desktop and see if anything shows there?

That was the second thing I did. Nothing showed up out of the ordinary there.

Did you delete your trash bin? There may be an item that still has an inbox flag, but also be in the trash you didn't read.

I am stumped. How are you running Windows by chance?
