Stuck on update

I am trying to do the latest system update on my LG6 phone.  It has been working on update for about 40 minutes and seems to be stuck on Verizon screen.  How do I get out of this?  TIA

LARSCO90, we don't want to see you stuck in the middle of a software update, especially after you've waited 40 minutes. Let's gather some information to help get the software update moving. Have you noticed any changes on the screen since updating the software? In some cases, the update can take up to an hour but we want to be sure there is some movement during the process. Also, were you having any trouble with your data connection before the update? This can also delay the update if it's having a hard time downloading the software.
