AH, Free tablet. Sounds like a good offer, if it were completely free.
I will assume that you will be required to agree to a 2 year service contract at $10 a month. If you are charged for an additional line activation you will be paying $280 for service. If that is alright with you, go ahead.
IF you check the sales and promotions page on Verizon's website, you should be able to confirm the "free with purchase" offer and conditions. Look for the *.
Even after 2 years you're still paying $10 a month. This is not different that getting a "free" G3 and having the pay the $40 a month line charge. If one wants a device that native connects to Verizon's network you'll pay a$10 a month fee forever. You're better off paying full price for a wi-fi only tablet and using your phone as a hotspot.
Except that after 2 years they could discontinue cell service without an
early termination fee.
I agree, buy a non cellular tablet and use your hot spot. I have found
cell reception on tablets to be less reliable (aka sloooow) . But the run
extremely well on my phones hot spot.
