Why can't I get to the lock screen after the update?

My phone was working perfectly fine before the update. Now since the update, I've been having issues getting to the lock screen. The 'knock on' feature doesn't work, pushing the power button doesn't work. The only thing that makes the lock screen come up is if I plug it in or unplug it. PLEASE tell me this is temporary or there is some fix I need to do! I really don't want to do a factory reset...

Try clearing out the Cache with Smart Cleaning or by tapping on the Storage option in Settings and clearing Cache there.  Remove the battery for 5 min.

I had no issues at all with the update.

If no dice, factory reset and DO NOT restore apps and app data.

I also had this problem. I called LG and they had me send the phone in for repair. I shipped on a Thursday. They received on Monday, fixed the problem and shipped to me the same day. I received the phone back the following Thursday. Works as good as new.
