I'm having a problem with the lg g3 screen coming on while it's in my pocket. It will start to get warm and runs the battery down. I have a screen protector on it and I changed it but still have the problem. Why would the screen on my lg 3g phone come on by itself while in my pocket?

jsecle, that is a very good concern. I want to make sure that we get to the bottom of this ASAP. How long have you noticed the screen coming on while in your pocket? Has there been any changes to the phone recently (new apps or software update)? Please keep us posted.

It's been happening for about 4 or 5 weeks now. I thought it was the battery and tried a new one but still have the same issue. I have also brought the phone up in safe mode and tried it and it still has the problem in safe mode. I don't recall any upgrades or new apps than I can tie the problem to but that's a possibility. I've noticed that it tends to happen more when I'm outdoors and it's warm out than inside, so heat may be related. Any ideas on what to try next?

Are you using the lock screen function? If you are, that wouldn't be happening.

Yes, I'm using the lock screen (with password) and it still happens. When the screen comes on it ends up in on the camera function or the emergency call dialer, both of which are accessible from the screen that comes up to enter the pin code.

Change the motion sensor sensitivity?
IS the case protecting to power button?

I've done the motion sensor calibration several times to no affect, there is no sensor sensitivity adjustment on the lg 3g that I'm aware of. If you know of a sensitivity adjustment please let me know. I don't have a case on the phone and the power button is recessed and it didn't cause a problem for the first year that I owned the phone.

Thanks for these additional details as to you trying a new battery and safe mode, Jsecle. Let me continue to assist you with your device getting warm. Is the device too warm to hold? Are you getting any alert messages telling you the device is needs to shut down to cool off? Share more details.

I asked for and got a second opinion on this matter. If the G3's screen isn't locked before it's put in a pocket or wherever you keep your phone. What you're experiencing can and will happen. And not only that, It will also depend on how long you've set the timer to time out.

The phone does not get so hot than I can't hold it and I'm not getting any alert messages.
