Why won't my mediaserver stop running?

Since the 5.0.1 update the mediaserver will not stop.  It will use up to 30% battery power.  Previously I was able to get nearly 40 hours of battery life with my usage now it is barely 12 hours.  Only way I found to improve is rebooting the phone.  I think this problem relates to Pandora app and mediaserver as it is the only music player I regularly use.  Google, Pandora, Verizon please fix.

Software updates should improve the device! We want all functions on the device to work properly. Place the device in Safe Mode to see if the battery life improves http://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-112843/ .
