4G LTE Home Internet Inconsistant speed

Status of open ticket, reference number {edited for privacy} submitted January 26, 2023. I was told I would hear back from Verizon within a couple of days. Feb 5, 2023 still no word from Verizon.

Inconsistant internet download speeds! Internet speeds consistantly drop below 5mpbs and have to reboot the gateway several times each day. After booting the gateway I have seen speeds as high as 120mpbs only to only  have the speeds fail back within minutes to a couple of hours later.  I have called verizon on several occasions with no resolve.

We certainly want you to get the speeds you should be getting with us, ddrewer1. We deeply apologize, but our Network Engineers do not provide updates on the status of a network investigation ticket. Once they have found out what the issue is and what steps to take for the resolution, you will be notified directly by them, either by a phone call, text message or email.

4G LTE Home Internet, Inconsistent speeds. Each time a ticket was opened, I was reassured Verizon would be in contact with me. Both times I ended up having to call Verizon to ask the status of the open tickets. According to Verizon both tickets were resolved and closed. They claimed it was a community issue and was resolved. Unfortunately, after 7 1/2 months of calls into Verizon the issue still remains.

With all my calls into Verizon support line, the technicians where always friendly and tried their best to resolve my issue. Unfortunately in my opinion the technician that closed both tickets where worthless.

Today I have choose to go with another internet provider and have unplugged the Verizon gateway for the last time.

Inconsistant internet speeds continue to be a daily issue with Verizon 4G LTE Home Internet.

Do you have a Verizon cell phone? How are the speeds on that device when using mobile data?

The LTE Home service should be capped to 50Mbps down, 10Mbps up. It may temporarily test faster (for a second or two) due to bursting. Otherwise anything faster might be the 5G service.

I do have a 5g Verizon cell phone which I see very consistent speeds.  Test results average 60 to 75Mbps down and 5Mbps up.

The issue I'm having with the 4G LTE Home Internet.  My internet speeds are inconsistent throughout the day and night. Speeds consistently dropping below 5mpbs and as slow as 700Kbps. My uploads remain consistent at 5Mbps. With consistent rebooting of the Gateway, speeds usually resume average 35 to 45Mbps only to drop back down within few hours or a few minutes.

After six months of calls to Verizon support and a replaced gateway, Verizon support opened a ticket to have the tower evaluated. Ticket was opened on January 26, 2023 and still remains open. Up until the evening the support ticket was opened I was fully unaware that Verizon records clientโ€™s bandwidth speeds. There was a brief period back in November that my download speeds exceed Verizonโ€™s guaranteed max speed of 50Mbps. It was the Verizon support tech that informed me that he could see download speeds in excess of 100Mbps. His comment to me, these speeds are not usually even seen with 5g. Leaving the technician to believe the issues was not on my end.

I understand what you are saying. I read the contract prior to opting in. With that said, I was under the impression the download speeds would support my 4K TV streaming (25Mbps).

Speed test provided by testmy.net and Verizon.
