Nintendo Switch and Target Gift Card Promo

On March 18th I added the Home Internet service after being emailed a promotion about a free Nintendo Switch and $200 Target gift card for switching your internet service. I have multiple phone lines and services with Verizon so I thought I'd give it a shot. Big Mistake!
After the 65 days were up I waited a few days, May 25th, and then contacted support after not receiving anything about redeeming the promotion. I was told to wait 5 more business days and I should receive an email. Never did.
Contacted support again a week later and they said I should be able to see an tile to redeem on my account. There is nothing about the promo anywhere in my account. No tile, no nothing. They tell me to wait a bit longer again.
I wait two weeks and reach out again on Friday, June 14th. Each time having to sit with someone in chat support for hours! They tell me they are filing a form to escalate things. I ask for some kind of confirmation and they tell me that I'll get an email the following Tuesday. Didn't receive anything.
Reach out again today, June 28th. I talk to a few people after getting disconnected. Finally someone says they will escalate with high priority. I ask about a confirmation email because I've heard that before and still did not get help. I do get an text saying the request has gone through and to CHECK BACK WITH THEM in 5 days. Why I have to shake down this company over and over is beyond me.
The support person tells me that they ran out of stock of Nintendo Switches and that's why they haven't gone out. I'm sorry, but that's not really my problem. If you have run out of the promotion then please communicate with your customers what is going on.
I informed the customer service person that if I need to wait in chat support for hours again then next time I contact them will be to cancel all my services. I've been a customer for 10 years and have enjoyed the services, but in the past year or two everything has gone down hill and I'm pretty convinced they are willing to undermine their customers after this.
Even though I've been told this is escalated, I don't believe anything I have heard. What a disappointment.

KENNEKOL, we're sorry you're experiencing issues with the promotion. When did you get the service and what service did you get? What happened when you tried to redeem the offer?

I'm so sorry to hear that. They looked up my account after I posted this and really had nothing else to say beyond watching my spam folder for emails just to get confirmation that I'm eligible from the prize distribution companies! I figured I'd have to wait awhile to actually receive the products themselves, but having to wait so long just for an email with a redeem link is so outrageous. I am suspicious that they are hoping people forget about it and and never redeem.

This is truly insane. I've never seen a company as big as Verizon unable to follow through on a promotion like this.
As for me, I have contacted customer service through chat around 6 times now. I kept screenshots of each conversation. Each person I talked to told me they were confident that they could get it worked out for me but each one failed. The majority of them told me to keep waiting for an email. Two of them sent emails to my email address to check that I am receiving them and I did. More than one created an escalation ticket and the last one I talked to created an ITS ticket which she said was different. She assured me that I would get an email within 5 to 7 business days either telling me how to redeem the target gift card or telling me that I will get a $200 credit on my bill. Of course I never received anything and I'm getting tired of reaching out over and over and getting nowhere.
I got my internet service on March 1 and after waiting 60 days , I was able to redeem the nintendo switch but not the target gift card. I tried to redeem it on the mobile site. I got the email telling me to go to the website to redeem it by clicking on the tile which was there at the time. I clicked on it and selected the target gift card and clicked to agree to the terms and conditions. Then I was taken back to the page asking me to choose either the gift card or the chromebook again. After that, I never saw the tile in my account again. One of the customer service people I talked to told me that they are showing that a chromebook was sent to me. It absolutely was not. If I had received it, even though it's not what I wanted, I would have given up on this a long time ago but I haven't received anything. I first contacted customer service about this on May 10 and now it's July 5 and still no gift card and no statement credit. I have to say, I feel lied to and cheated and I'm astonished that Verizon would do this. I've been with Verizon for at least 15 years, maybe more.

I'm currently in the same situation. I was told they are filing an escalation but never heard anything back. It's been weeks since.

Received a promo code for the Switch today. It was already in my cart so I immediately entered the code . Didn't work. Chat wasn't working. Called and spent 45 minutes on the phone. First told an "escalation ticket" was being created. I said we've already done that twice, I need to speak to someone else. Then told they were out of stock on the Switch even though I entered the code within 5 minutes of getting the text. Then told I could get a Switch lite or equivalent gift card. When I asked where the gift card was from and the amount, was told it was a gift card for the Switch lite. Declined that and am now waiting and assured I will be notified by email when Nintendo Switch is back in stock and even though my promotion eligibility ends 8/11, it will be fine. Not holding my breath.

just an update itโs been 60+ days now and still nothing. loving the internet considering where i live/options in my area. however, it should not be this big of a problem to redeem a promo. i get having to wait but at this point and the countless verizon CS chats assuring me over and over, iโm just tired of the runarounds and just want what i was promised in the promotion.

Glad to see you are enjoying our service, however, sad to read you are encountering promotional issues. We want to be harmonized on the same tune of the song to avoid being out of rythm.
Has your issue been escalated? If yes, what have you been told?

I am having a similar issue! I ordered my home internet on March 9th, in store. I waited until May to see if I had received the promo codes for the gift card and Nintendo switch. I contacted customer support and nobody could find my promo codes at first. I had to go to my local corporate/company store, where I bought the home internet, to get actual help. I spoke to the manager there and she was able to pull up the promotion numbers for me to give customer service when I called again. I was told they were stackable and I qualified for both. May 17th, I received the promo code for the Nintendo switch and immediately went to my Verizon account and followed the instructions on how to redeem. The code wasn't working. The error message said something like "item not found"? Anyways, contacted customer support again and was told they would escalate my ticket because they couldn't get it to redeem either. Never got a call back. Meanwhile, I did finally receive the gift card promo, almost a month later on June 8th. That one redeemed no issues. So, I wrnt back to customer service about the Nintendo switch promo. I called again....and again, every time being told ny ticket was being escalated. I still have not received a call back to this day! Last time I called, I was told the code was no longer valid and rebate depart was no longer honoring it. I went back to the corporate/company store and showed proof of the emails I received with the advertisement, the text I received of the same offer, the receipt of purchasing my home internet to get the promotion, and the emails for both promo codes. Everyone I spoke to at Verizon's corporate/company agreed that I should have received the switch by now. I was told the rebate center was closed by the time they tried to call on my behalf and they would try again the next day, today (Aug 9) to figure out what's going on. Almost close of business for rebate center until Monday and I still have not heard from anyone. I tried to call and text the tech who said they were helping and it feels like I'm being ghosted. Maybe it's time the ones of us who don't want to let this go look at speaking with attorneys for false advertising and breach of contract, among other things. I have been a loyal customer for 6+ years and I'm getting fed up with the constant stonewalling.
