My father has a Verizon Orbic 4G hotspot device. He was wondering if he could remove the current SIM card out of the device, purchase a new SIM card from Verizon and activate the new sim to start new service using the hotspot device? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Hello, being on top of your equipment is crucial, especially if you are looking to activate new service with a Verizon Hotspot. Verizon is here to help.
Does your father have active service? Is he looking for postpaid or prepaid service?

He does not have service currently. The Orbic device was his granddaughter’s and she had service with it while staying at there house. So I don’t know what the status is on her account. He was wanting to possibly get a new SIM card and swap her SIM card with a new SIM card and start service. I told him that I’m not sure if he could do that. Or if it would be better to get a new device and start service with that.

We appreciate the clarification. In this case, you can have him contact customer service directly, as it might be possible to simply activate the SIM card that is included with the device.
