Wrong time provided to connected phones by 4G LTE Extender that can't be fixed?!

My Verizon-brand [Samsung] 4G LTE Extender provides the wrong time to cell phones, and the admin settings on the device only change the time on the device UI menus per the manual (below).  You'd think the time would come from the GPS for my location, but instead the time it's using is out in the middle of the ocean.  Is there any way to fix this time since the device setup doesn't control it (again, see below)?

Hello, ltelte. Help is here. To fix a time zone issue with a Verizon 4G LTE network extender, first try changing the time zone within the extender's Web Admin page. If that doesn't work, ensure your device's time zone is not set to automatically update and manually set it to the correct time zone. You can also try restarting the extender and disconnecting/reconnecting devices. If the problem persists, contact Verizon support for further assistance. 

 

If you still experience issues, please let us know as we may need to take a deeper dive into this issue.

Have you tried setting the time zone in the extender to your time zone instead of leaving it set to UTC?  The Samsung 4G LTE Network Extender has been replaced by the Askey ASK-SFE116 4G LTE Network Extender.  My Samsung that had issues was replaced at no cost with the Askey.
