$200 gift card

I opened up a new account with Verizon for 4 lines that I switched over from AT&T. As part of the signup promotion, Verizon offered me $200 gift card per line, totaling $800. I was told that I would receive these gift cards after few months. I’ve called Verizon several times and inquired about the status of the gift cards, and I was advised by the customer representative that it is an automatic process, and I will receive them in the mail. I was also advised that there isn’t anything I have to do.

This week, again, I called Verizon to find out about status since I didn’t receive any of the gift cards. To my surprise, now Verizon is telling me that I must have received a text message with some special codes and had to submit a rebate form with those codes to get the gift cards. And I only had 30 days to do it and now it is too late.

When I stated that I called several times to inquire about the status, no one told me about those alleged text messages with special codes. Rather, I was advised that the process is automatic, and I don’t need to worry about it. I asked Verizon to provide me with transcripts of phone conversations, and all they are telling me is that would be a waste of time even if I prove that the Verizon customer service representative basically lied to me. This is a typical bait and switch, and honestly, I would never expect this from Verizon.

I will be cancelling my service immediately and switch back to ATT.

I was also supposed to receive a gift card for my transaction a month and a half ago. The in-store rep said i would still receive it, but I have never seen an email, text, or received it in the mail. However, i did spend over $300 in store and my next bill was outrageous for just adding internet and trading in a phone. I’ve been a member for over 19 years and i still get over charged.

I was assured last month that I would get the gift card after I switched back from TMobile. The manager was very slick with a huge friendly smile as I was walking out the door. How can I get you to sign today? How bout $400? He got my attention with a promise he could not fulfill . 2 lines would be $400 in gift cards so of course they will make it impossible to get. I was told even with my Unlimited Welcome plan by the salesman and manager I would qualify for the gift cards. Today I get an email from Verizon that my plan DOES NOT qualify for gift cards. I will be in the store tomorrow to make some noise. Hello customer service…Can you help me?

They are doing the exactly same thing to me right now. Said i will automatically get $200 gift cards with 3 of the 6 new lines I got recently but i never got those. Today when I called in the check the status, they said i was supposed to redeem the gift cards to get them but I didn’t do it within 60 days and the offer has expired now. So basically they lied to me and robbed me of the $400 that i was supposed to get.

I have been  experiencing the same issue. No emails or anything about the gift cards I was promised at the end of 2023 during my switch to Verizon.

I have the worst as a new customer! First of all 3 of the four lines got set up incorrectly which forced me to spend 3 hours at the store and 3 hours in the morning to finalize get it to make calls.  Now I'm working on getting what is promised through the chat assit which it stated the fastest. I took screen shot of it since I have a gut feeling. I will be returning everything.  Verizon do not promise to hold their end which by sending the $200 gift card to my email once my phone is activated and waive all the actavtion fee.

I have the same problem: switched 3 lines from Boostmobile  and was told that I would get $200/line. If we kept the same phone numbers. We have been calling so many times and they never know anything or messages that we have called about the same issue. I called today and spoke with an agent about this issue. At first, they said it's a promo that will be applied to my monthly bills. I said that's not what I was promised, Verizon promised $200 gift card per line that I will port. Then, after some waiting, the agent was like "that promotion doesn’t seem to exist be wise we never had a promotion about it.

I have the exact same issue. 

The Verizon Customer Service representative I originally corresponded with via text when I ported my line over and purchased a new plan and phone through Verizon told me I would get an e-mail  with instructions on how to claim my on-line $200 Visa Card promotion .  The CSR stated I needed to have my new verizon phone service  for a minimum # of  months to be eligible and after that period of time I would get an e-mail with the instructions on how to claim my $200 Visa Gift Card.  I didn't receive any e-mail or instructions and called and spoke to another Verizon representative  and they stated the same thing- I would receive an e-mail with instructions on how to claim my $200 Visa Gift Card which I never received. Now that I found this forum I went to the Verizon Promotion Center link someone provided here to claim my rebate using the code cartoffer2024 and I get an error message this promotion has ended.  This is totally ridiculous I called into Verizon Customer Service again too. They couldn't help me basically gave me the same instructions and stated they would pass this issue onto their management team

There is a term for this illegal practice Verizon when you entice a customer to switch their service with a promotion and then don't deliver which is a form of FRAUD! 

You need to stand behind your promises when you entice customers to switch their phone service by offering special promotions and then neglect to provide any instructions on how to receive the promotion .
