$450 BYOD Issue

I switched to Verizon and completed all steps given for the promotion. I received a confirmation email and then an email that Verizon was having trouble processing. The email stated I need to contact Verizon. I did this and was sent an email it was fixed. A week later I received another email they were having trouble processing. Then after more than an hour on the phone they informed me I only qualified for &150.00 rebate. Then another email stating they were having trouble processing and to contact them. After 30 minutes back and forth she stated she needed to talk to the store where I was given the $450 promotion code. She returned and stated she would have to call me back. She called back and stated that I qualified for $150 rebate and would be sending confirmation. Within an hour there were confirmations for all 5 phones for $150.00 e-gift cards. I informed Danielle she has one week to fix the issue and she stated she could adjust one of the phones to the $450.00 but not the other 4 phones I transferred. I plan to wait until September 24th and then will report to Better Business Bureau. I did not need to switch my service and I am paying more for phone service. 

Very unhappy with customer service

Same thing happened to me , that drag you along for 10 weeks hopeing you will forget ? 

Now telling me different stories . Anyone know how to contact bbb and consumer affairs ?

I spent hours chatting texting calling reps rebate center etc.... and still haven’t received my rebate I’m entitled to . The same thing happened to me as others on the chat , you spin us along and play games for months and then tell us we’re not in the right plan tha YOU put us on to get the rebate . I’m going to contact consumer affairs FCC bbb and the district attorney office ASAP . This seems to me to be widespread issue by Verizon

Hi EdwardL_VZW,

Looks like I have same issue. I added the line to my account with my own phone (device). I got notification that I'm eligible for 450$ verizon rebate. "You're eligible for a $450 BYOD Rebate - Online & Telesales Only because you switched to Verizon and activated a new smartphone." But as soon as I tried to Redeem that I got message - "Looks like there was a problem processing your submission. Please try again". So, does it work if I already had Verizon account but added new line to it?

Same thing happened to me. I received a mailer for converting on line, was supposed to receive $400 gift cards and only received $300 ones, and one less. I saved the chat history and no one cares. Not sure at what point it's considered fraud or the BBB would do something about it. Super frustrating.

I find it interesting that when you get to the choose a plan screen it says all plans but the basic qualify for the promo but in reality it’s the top plan that’s needed to qualify.  I feel like it’s done on purpose so rebates get denied.  Same this when trying to purchase the buy one get one free promo. If you select that promo and then try and choose 36 month financing vs 42months. The website will uncheck the buy one get one promo and select no thanks.  I’m sure a lot of people are getting messed up by this.  The website is the most un-user friendly website I’ve ever been on it feels like it’s done on purpose so u mess up and can’t collect rebates

My experience as well.  They take months to reply, so you're paying a few hundred dollars plus activation fees, then they tell you oops, you applied at the wrong time OR some other reason I forget.  Neither reason was accurate.  You are welcome to call their general line if you have a problem with that, the number says.  Good luck with that.

I received both of my cards with no problem by the date that was promised.  Both were $450.  I was a bit worried initially after seeing everyone’s comments but then thought maybe something they did disqualified them or maybe their phone wasn’t valued at the amount in which they were seeking.

We switched over to Verizon. What a mistake!!!! We have been outright LIED TO about SO many things, including the $450 BYOD rebate. I have called Verizon AT LEAST 20 times. I have literally spent countless hours on the phone dealing with one incompetent person after another. The one today, (Sania), actually told me Verizon has NEVER offered a $450 gift card. EVER. I asked to speak to a supervisor. At first, she told me her supervisor, (Jennifer), wasn’t available to speak to me. I said I would wait. Then, she told me her supervisor messaged her back and said she would not speak with me. ?!?!?!?! What?!?!?!  I then asked to speak to her supervisor’s supervisor. Sania informed me that her supervisor messaged her and would not give out this information. Just to be clear: NO ONE at Verizon’s “Customer Care” department cares. At all. 
I will definitely be following up with the BBB along with any and all legal avenues.

Same thing is happening to me. So I have decided to post reviews and commnts in as many blogs and social media posts to discourage people from moving to this network duento this bogus promotion.  I will also transfer to another cheper network than wait for the $450 rebate which I know will never come.

The same thing is happening to me. Customer service tells me I'm eligible for two rebates. then I call the rebate line and they tell me that no one put in for two lines and I have to call customer service. and then I call customer service and customer service that I have to call the rebate line and then the rebate line says that I have to call customer service. I'm not happy with this either. It's a scam.
