BYOD Rebate

I ported in my number to Verizon based on the $450 BYOD Rebate (Purchase Date: 11/24/2020). Based on recommendations presented within the Verizon Wireless app, I switched to another Verizon Wireless plan. Never was I told that by changing plans I would be ineligible for receiving my rebate. I even told the chat representative I would switch back to the original plan in order to receive the rebate as that is a significant amount of money to me, particularly right now. I feel extremely scammed after having switched my wireless and even internet plans to Verizon.

Does seem like a common problem many have mentioned on here some don't get rebate or promotion etc

For anyone reading this, do not rest assured that Verizon Wireless customer support will follow through with any sort of solution based on their responses here.

Apparently, I "wasn't using enough data" so the Verizon app recommended a lower-tier plan (i.e., a plan that would also make me ineligible for receiving the $450 BYOD rebate). Verizon's own recommendation came with ZERO indication or warning that I would consequently be forgoing the $450 rebate as a result, as such I switched to the recommended plan.

Naturally, customer support has told me I am at fault and there is nothing they are able to do as the terms and conditions of the rebate were presented at the time of purchase. What logical person would opt to forgo $450 in order to save $10/month by switching to lower plan? That makes zero sense. If this is not "bait and switch," then I do not know what is.

The fact that Verizon is unwilling to accept responsibility for the clear conflict of interest presented in how their in-app and marketing tactics interact with customers truly speaks volumes. If your product encourages consumers to perform an action that will adversely affect them financially without providing full disclosure, that is negligence and indicative of business practices worthy of serious concern.

I fully intend on forwarding this case with all related transcripts to the BBB; there is clearly a major discrepancy between Verizon Wireless business practices and requirements established by the BBB.

Assume you saw the last one in number 5 here when signing up for the deal?  Gotta always read the fine print on things.

You can always port your number back to the original phone company or any other cell phone service provider. If you did not get the rebate then there is no reason to be obligated to stay with Verizon. BTW: I believe the rebate amount is determined by the particular plan you choose. So if you change plans then the rebate amount would be wrong. So it makes sense that the rebate should not be granted.

Literally we have 2 rebates egift cards due since March 7th. They finally say sent and delivered check your email on March 13th but said it wouldn't show until.the 15th? Then  of course NOTHING so oh, it must be our email.address, so we give a different email address, and nothing! Oh it must be because they're gmail.addresses, so we give a 3rd non gmail.address, and NOTHING, then it's well if you don't receive them in 24 hours Contact verizon customer care and we'll take over and make sure you get your rebates immediately,  24 hours later oh well since they have issues and they can't send an email, and had to resend to multiple emails because realistically they're liars and not sending them they get more time.all of a sudden, so now it's 48 hours more. So we ask so in 48 hours when they're still not here what then? Or well then I really don't know. So you're telling me there is no way to access our ebates info and give it to us via the phone or texts??? Really?? So if your house is burning 🔥 down and the front door is blocked you just burn to.death? NO! YOU USE THE BACK DOOR, OR A WINDOW!. If you expect me to believe you don't have a built in fail safe incase there is a problem.with your email delivery then you're a imbecile. Total.lies, and fraud and false advertising  and LIES. 850$ in rebates owed and nothing at all but lies, excuses 20+ hours between chats and calls and being spun in..circles to be told 1 thing 10+ times 1 day and then something totally different the next when it comes time.to actually honor what you say and give us our rebates, you make some. Lies up and expect us to believe it? Hmm. Let's see because what's more likely 3 different email accounts from 2 different email providers just magically don't get these sent and delivered rebates, or verizon is liars and not sending? A complete imbecile see they're liars and just not sending them. And the biggest jokes is they admit they.can see the promises the days before made to us and still dont fulfill them, and they can't even provide any kind of proof that they sent them. Nothing "just their word" which they already admit they're breaking to begin with.

Jeisen32, this is never the experience we want you to have. Making sure you are able to retrieve and access your Rebate egift cards is important. We are here to help. Some Rebate gift cards may be sent to your email Spam/Junk folder as they are not originally sent from a Verizon email address. Please check the additional folders in your email for the following information listed below.
