While the HTC U11 Carrier unlock version is sold directly by HTC it has been certified to work on the Verizon network. More information about bringing your own device to Verizon is available on the BYOD portal. Thank you for your feedback!

It is compatible, but you have to purchase it unlocked from HTC or Amazon. https://m.androidcentral.com/us-unlocked-htc-u11-doesnt-support-verizons-cdma-network-and-thats-okay

Did you even read the article from Android Central I linked earlier? It specifically stated HTC went through the certification process with Verizon. IT IS COMPATIBLE. Besides you will save paying the upgrade fee from Verizon. This is the future of cell phone purchasing.

There is no Verizon version. There is a global and US unlocked versions. You need the one with Band 13 LTE which is only available in the US version.

Only sprint is selling it right now. Believe me I have been asking Verizon since HTC sent me notifications of the knew phone. It is being released today by sprint, Amazon, and HTC. Still Verizon has not gotten on board. Makes me want to go back to sprint.

I received my HTC U11 in the mail yesterday and have not been successful in activating the SIM. I was on the phone with Verizon support for 45 minutes and was elevated to Tier 2 support, I then spent an hour in a store and the Verizon employee informed me that the HTC U11 is currently not on the list of supported devices. He tested multiple SIM's and activation attempts on the phone with my functioning SIM that came out of my HTC One M8. The only solution he had for me was to upload my phones IMEI information and make a request to have it added to the list of Verizon supported devices. He said to hold tight a couple days, stop back into the store, or put the SIM back in to see if it begins to work.
Any updates on this at this point?
Thank you,

I'm experiencing the same issue as amo25. The U11 is not listed as a compatible device on the VZW network in spite of assurances up til now that it would arrive precertified to work. Where does one upload an IMEI and request to have a device whitelisted? And how can this process be expedited?

Sounds like HTC didn't submit a list of IMEI numbers for the database at Verizon Wireless after they got the certification done.

So I bought the unlocked one from amazon as htc wanted $30 for overnight shipping and amazon only wanted $5.99 for overnight shipping had to call htc support so they could create a ticket under my phone number for verizon to see. then the phone activated. took 15 extra minutes.

So are you saying that you can make and receive calls with no problem, as well as send and receive texts with no problem? Are you able to use all available bands or still limited?
If so, how long has your phone been "activated"? Just curious if it's been a few hours or a few days...

I purchased the U11 from HTC and was pretty much OK with my SIM from my M8 but you have to make some tweaks:
You may need to allow "Roaming" in your Data settings, and Verizon will need to activate "Advanced Calling" on your account to allow you to make and receive calls. I did have to do a factory reset after I thought I had it mostly working, so don't give up. The Verizon store also told me the phone was incompatible but it is.

I thought I would share my experience
After reading this thread I was nervous opting for the HTU U11 from Amazon rather than going with the HTC 10 from the Verizon to upgrade my existing HTC M8. I pull the trigger on the U11 and it arrived Sunday with one day shipping. I got the IEMI number off the back of the box and entered it on the Verizon compatibility web page for "Bring your own device" here is the link: Bring Your Own Phone or Device - BYOD | Verizon Wireless
And I confirmed the HTC U11 is compatible with Verizon!! It may be that my purchase from Amazon has a newer batch of HTCs with confirmed IMEI numbers. But when I went to go through the process of selecting my old M8 under my devices and that I was selecting to replace it with my own device. During those steps when I entered the IMEI number and my old sim card from the M8 it said "system not working now try later". So I just went ahead and put the SIM card in my U11. It didn't go through any activation on the phone, just showed Verizon network 4G. But it wouldn't make or receive calls. I went on line to my devices and there is was, the U11 instead of the M8 for that phone numbers. I activated "HD calling" for that line (which wasn't an option when it was an M8 device), and BINGO.. it started working normally, calls, text etc etc. I don't know about voice over the internet options etc.. I don't use those. But for those of you considering U11 for Verizon, it is compatible and I screenshotted the confirmation from Verizon webpage that with my IEMI number it did confirm they are on their compatibility list. Hope this helps. It is a great phone.. the camera is really sharp.. I have never tried Galaxy, I have always been a fan of HTC... too bad they are dropping windows based HTCs...CC

BYOD is still not recognizing the IMEI for my U11. Here is the error message I keep getting since yesterday:
The phone associated with the Device ID you entered is not compatible with the Verizon Wireless network.
I talked to a customer service rep at a corporate store who had never heard of the U11 before. She called tech support who told her that the device is not compatible and suggested that I return it. This is very aggravating.
Customers on another forum report that inserting an already activated SiM from a Verizon-approved phone into the U11 will get it onto the network. BUT: the phone you take the activated SIM out of must be a recent model that has Advanced Calling (aka HD Voice) as a feature enabled.
Can I get confirmation that this method will work?

Hi Carol!
Unfortunately, this isn't true. Verizon has yet to update their catalog to include this phone. Thus, every Verizon Wireless customer who is trying to use this phone has had to submit a form "requesting" that their phone be added to the list of approved devices. They're indicating that this will take 1-3 business days from the time that the request is submitted. The department who handles these requests doesn't work on the weekends so anyone submitting last night (like myself) or this weekend will be out of luck until next week.

That's what I concerned about the network issue. Actually GSM sim cards are easy to phone activate not like verizon network(CDMA or LTE). Hopefully you guys well done with U11 on Verizon.

Apparently the solution for getting the unlocked U11 to make phone calls on Verizon's network is to pop in an already activated SIM from another Verizon phone, AS LONG AS that phone has Advanced Calling enabled in the settings.
Advanced Calling (i.e. HD Calling) enables the phone to make calls over LTE simultaneously with data. Since the U11 is an LTE-only phone (no 3G or 1x service), you need to have Advanced Calling on.

I tried this on Sunday. Went into Verizon, popped my functioning SIM out of my one M8 and into an HTC 10 and made sure advanced calling was on, then we put it into my U11 and nothing changed.
