Switching from basic phone to smart phone??

I've been trying to switch from my basic verizon android phone to a verizon smart phone (iphone6+) i got as a hand me down

all the information is working and correct, but once it's on the confirmation screen it gives me the error saying transaction cannot be completed, please try later or contact a chat rep. I've been doing both. Chat representatives are never answering me

apparently it's a common error to switch from a basic phone to a smart phone, but does anyone know what to do????

Did you change your plan to a monthly prepaid smartphone plan?

That's a thing? The only options in my plan settings mention nothing of a smart phone nor an option to change to it.

I wasn't sure if you had an old plan that was just for basic phones. The current plans work for a smartphone and a basic phone.

Hey, I got a message a couple days ago but no response. When should I expect an update?
