I bought a new phone online and switched from another company. I was also promised $800 for the trade-in and a $200 switch rebate.
It has been an ABSOLUTE disaster. After 3 weeks (yes, THREE WEEKS) of pulling teeth to receive a trade-in box to be send my phone back (and over 4 hours on the phone with customer reps who literally told me a different story with each phone call), I went into the store and was able to send the phone back. I am still waiting to see if the $800 credit is received.
My current issue is the switch rebate. I submitted the rebate and received a notice that the rebate is invalid. I called again and was promised to get the problem solved. The customer rep said she would call me back in 30 minutes and never called back. I feel that Verizon is making this whole process so much more difficult than it needs to be and quite frankly, I feel lied to and extremely disappointed. If I do not receive the rebates soon, I will have to cancel within the 30 day window. I deeply regret switching to Verizon and I am making sure to tell everyone I know to not trust the shiny promotions they offer.
